Natural Gas Extraction (Industry POV)
Fair warning – these videos come with a barf alert. Keep a baggie or trashcan handy. Nevertheless, I post them because they do have two redeeming qualities:
1. They provide a simple overview about the process and some of the equipment you will see at drilling sites.
2. They provide insight into the marketing and spin that the industry uses. I’m tempted to have a contest to see if anyone can locate an example of Chesapeake, or any other gas company, employing the noise reduction technologies, the landscaping, buried pipelines, or any gesture whatsoever to minimize the impact on the citizens of rural PA.
That said, here they are:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
(note: The information in this vid is specific to Texas. In PA, this water is disposed of by letting it sit in the sun where it putrefies and eventually evaporates or diluting it and sending it down the river. Such good times.)
Part 5
Part 6
Part 7
